CHAPTER 15
Vappu sent one of the slave boys to meet Liskin. While waiting for them, she started to pack. She was to stay with Liskin in his camp while the Dark Elves destroyed Ikriam.
Vappu walked from her closet to the window and looked out. What she saw made her heart beat faster. Thousands of torches burning, thousands of feet walking. Liskin was supposed send guards with the slave boy. Vappu ordered them to come through one specific secret tunnel only she and Gadwalader knew about. All she had to do was wait.
Vappu finished packing essential possessions and sat on her bed. She could hear the elves running up and down the corridors.
"The Dark Ones are coming!" some shouted. Others stood and sobbed, paralized with fear.
"Oh, what a bunch of girls! Crying is not going to help you now. You had this coming." Vappu thought.
She heard a soft knock on her door. She hurriedly unlocked the door and opened it.
The slave boy and the soldiers were waiting for her. Vappu flinched. She forgot how intimidating Dark Elves were. Vappu was tall in her own right but these creatures were well over six feet tall. Vappu had to look up as she was only 5'8". The three Elves pushed her away from the door and entered the room.
"Would you not push me around, my friends" Vappu hissed.
"We have orders" the tallest of the three roared "we fetch you without being caught. You are not that important. You can die."
"Oh, aren't you friendly" Vappu snapped. She walked towards the elf and slowely said while poking him on the chest "Don't try me, buddy. Liskin and I have a deal. And as you know, you work for him. We are associates now so I guess that means you work for me."
"Woman, I will slice your head off if you keep mocking me."
"Shut your mouth! Liskin will have your head if he knows how you talk to m..."
"Will both of you keep quiet!" the slave boy whispered. "We have no time. Come at once!"
Vappu handed her belongings to the elf and smiled.
"Now boys. Watch carefully. Watch how the great Kingdom of Ikriam falls."
