My weekly top 10 (34): (aug 17 – aug 23, 2008)
-
1. CORUJUCA – in love…one
2. JSPENCE – my sister’s gloves
3. RXHAR – the wait
4. ELENA FRANCIS – milagros: the two stars: chapter
5. VELOCIRYX – candle’bre: the reckoning – book 1, darkness falls
6. TRUDETRUDE - gorgeous
7. PROJECTHIKARI – tanaka’s furisode
8. JENWRITINGISINMYSOUL38 – long to do…with you
9. ORANGE FAY – finally found
10. KITTYBELLDARLING – shooting away
-
CORUJUCA – When one is in love, everything looks brighter and dreamy. The world seems out of the world, for you become an alien (an UFO) to reality. Planet Earth seems far but Venus and Mars appear closer. And this is what Corujuca’s poem “in love…one” portrays. Even the reflection of moonlight in his love’s eyes brighten up the darkest hours of his life. Virus. Bacteria. LOVERIA!
-
JSPENCE – If love can makes you cheerful and lively, what can the death of a near and dear one do to you? Most of us have faced this harsh reality. JSPence’s sister died and she expresses her grief in a poetic way. Her sorrowful poem “my sister’s gloves” reflects on the blue gloves that personified her sister. She wears them and bids her sister a teary adieu. FAREWELL
-
RXHAR – You love someone and you want to meet him/her. You wait and wait and wait but s/he doesn’t show up. But you don’t give up and patiently and determinedly continue waiting. This must be the toughest and resultless job in the world. But Rxhar in her poem “the wait” is not concerned with the outcome. She waits for her lover knowing she will see him soon. VIRTUOUS
-
ELENA FRANCIS – We see the stars in the sky every night. Bright, shining, sparkling. Do these stars exist in an ordinary world like ours? They exist like that with certain rules and restrictions. And when they break and fall, something terrible happens. Elena in her novel “milagros: the two stars: chapter” has Milagros known differently to different people. She is a warrior and a woman. Read on.
-
VELOCIRYX – Well, well. You interested in a new epic style fantasy adventure? Chris Hartpence was recovering in the hospital where he gave expression to his fantastic thoughts and out came his novel “candle’bre: the reckoning – book 1, darkness falls”. A fantastic tale of knights and wars. There is an exotic map, a video and an audio version too. What more can you ask for. Whoa!
-
TRUDETRUDE – Hmm.This one is straight from the heart. Now, now. If Corujuca can give expression to his love in a moolight reflection, can Trudetrude be left behind? She is articulating her husband’s poems here. In “gorgeousthe ladylove has a smile like Mona Lisa that touches the heart. Her eyes are shining like diamonds and her voice warms the soul. Her touch, her beauty…I am lost!
-
PROJECTHIKARI – If you like historical fiction and you are an aficionado, then you have hit the right spot. Who can forget World War 2 and the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki that eliminated scores of lives and the land still is uncultivable. Jen kish in her moving novel “tanaka’s furisode” has a Japanese civilian Tanaka Momiji during WW2 with a biographical account beginning March 16, 1945. Unforgettable
-
JENWRITINGISINMYSOUL38 – This week is all about romance, love and lovers. So, here we have Jen soulfully in love. She has million things to do...only with the love of her life. In her poem “long to do…with you She longs to walk hand in hand with kissing and hugging (where else!) on the sand. The dreams of marriage and babies. The sharing and caring. Twogetherness
-
ORANGE FAY – First love can never be forgotten. For it is intense and subliminal. That first feeling always tingles the heart and the beating rate shoots up the zillionth time. Orange also fell in love and she expresses her emotions in her poem “finally found“.Her heart was lonely till she found the love of her life and her feelings were exposed. Trust and yearning. Romeo and Juliet!
-
KITTYBELLDARLING – Drugs, drinks, smokes and many other intoxicants not only ruin lives but also send their loved ones in grief seeing their pitiable condition. One would think that these things didn’t exist in the world but it is a reality. Kerstie-chan lori in her poem “shooting away” sees a lover wasted to drugs. The girl tries various means for his recovery except a REHAB. Go ahead!
-
(Well, this week’s joke is a question about who else but Obama! There are multiple answers for there can be never a one answer for such a multifarious personality.)
-
Why won't Obama release his real birth certificate?
* He's deciding which of his names (Barack Barry Hussein Obama Soetoro) to put on it.
* The ink isn't dry yet.
* Hillary Clinton won't give it back to him.
* He wants to surprise us at his swearing in.
* He accidently smoked it.
-
until next week...CHEERS!... and lots of luv and kisses...and...and...(I said SHUT UP!!!)
-
Ciao

hi! b. thanx for a super idea but for an individual, it'd be right next to impossible. writing 10 reviews a weel is a lot of hard work. lot of working goes in each of the list.

i find all the works here to be good except i cannot in my personal capacity comment on each of them. but i'd encourage u to do the same. i'd look forward to reading ur critiques. mine is an humble effort to show my appreciation. but please go ahead and bring forth whatever u like or dislike. it should make for an interesting read, i'm sure.

don't disappoint me. lol. ;-)

hi! . thanx for liking the reviews. lol. ;-)

Actually, I felt this list was ridiclous.
The number one poem is horrid..Who could it possibly be the best?
I disagree with this entire list and believe that it is a piece of rubbish..
