I don’t want to take

What you don’t want to give

But I can’t help wishing

You wanted to give more

Not because I would

Enjoy the receiving

But because you

Took pleasure in the giving

How can I explain?

My tortured wants!

To ask would be

To ruin the gift

And not to receive

Is a sorrow.

Comments:

Nicely put Rauna!
Giving is tarnished if it is not done willingly..
I get the message. It's a good one.

My point exactly... and hard to ask for what is not given willingly!
