In the morning, Leila helped me pack. Todd came to say goodbye. After Leila had helped me pack up all my things, we put them in the car. I met Maddie, who was a redhead. Her hair was straight and dark red with a blue streak in it. Her eyes were bright green and she was nice.
I walked over to Todd and hugged him. Todd hugged me softly, not wanting to hurt me. We kissed.
"Promise to call me when you get there?" He asked.
"Promise." We kissed one last time, and then Leila yelled that it was time to leave. I gave him a kiss on the cheek and walked down to the car. I waved goodbye as we drove off, leaving Todd standing there alone.
I felt horrible leaving him. I heard Leila's phone beep. She took it out of her pocket and smiled "It's for you." She said and she handed it to me.
On Leila's phone, there was a text message from Todd. "Hey. I forgot to tell you something when you left." It said. I wrote back,"And what's that?" He wrote back,"I love you." I smiled to myself. And wrote back,"I love you too. xoxo ~Leah" It beeped one more time, and the message said,"xoxoxoxoxoxo ~Todd" I smiled and gave the phone back to Leila.
"Awww. He missed you already." Then she turned to Maddie,"Don't you wish you could find a guy like that?" Maddie smiled.
"Don't we all." Maddie said.
"Amen to that." Leila replied.
I fell asleep on the car ride there. I slept the entire time. I had been up all night from excitement that I would never see my father again, and disappointment, that I would be leaving Todd behind.
When we arrived, Maddie woke me up. Leila and Maddie helped carry my stuff up to the apartment room. When Maddie unlocked the door and we stepped in, it was amazing. There were paintings on the walls that were framed and vases on stands and the room was just beautiful.
"Maddie made those vases and painted those pictures." Leila whispered into my ear.
"Wow." Was all I could say. I looked over and saw Maddie blushing.
Maddie showed me to my room. Maddie and Leila shared the biggest room. It had two beds and it looked like a college room. My room had blue walls and paintings of birds on branches.
All the sudden, after putting my stuff down, I felt sick and ran to the bathroom to throw up. Another bad thing about pregnancy. Morning sickness. Ugh...
There was a knock on the door, and in came a woman that looked like Leila, except rather with dyed black hair, she had light brown hair. She smiled and Leila introduced me to her. "Leah, this is my mom, Patty. Mom, this is Leah." She smiled at me and hugged me. Okay, not usually what you expect from a stranger.
"Leah, you have an ultrasound today." Patty said. She was smiling and looking at me like I was her daughter.
"Okay. Can you excuse me? I've got to call someone." I walked off, but not before I heard Leila whisper,"She's calling her lover." Patty laughed and sat down to tal with Leila.
I grabbed the phone off the hook and dialed Todd's number. It rang once and he answered,"Leah?"
"The one and only." I smiled to myself and sensed the smile on Todd's face.
"So, you made it okay?"
"Yep. By the way, I don't know if you wanna know, but I'm having my first ultrasound today." I could hear Todd breathing.
"Oh. Do you want me to come?" He asked gently.
"No, it's okay. I just got here. I don't need you to come with me everytime."
"Okay." He sounded a little disappointed.
"So, we're still on for Thanksgiving, right?" I asked.
"Yea." I could hear his voice brighten up."
"I promise to call you after the ultrasound."
"Okay. I love you. Bye."
"Bye." I hung up.
"Awwww...He loves you? That is so sweet!!" Lelia said.
"What..how?" She held up the other phone. She had been listening in on my conversation!
"Sorry. It was too tempting. I won't do it anymore. Scout's honor." She held up her hand and I forgave her.
"So, what time's the ultrasound?"
"I think we'll leave in a half an hour." I nodded and went to my room. I unpacked all of my clothes and items and then it was time to go.
