When the man left, he left with my dignity. He left, with my virginity.
All I could do was cry. I locked the door behind him and cried my heart out. Why me? Why did he choose me? Can my life get any worse?
It turns out it could. A few days later, I started feeling sick. I felt like throwing up. My feet were swollen and I felt bloated. Ugh, what's wrong NOW?
Walking to school, it didn't rain. There was no sunshine either. I felt like someone threw the world at me, and I just couldn't carry it anymore. I was especially moody. Could this just be PMS?
As I walked in the school, the first thing I noticed was that the halls were empty. The second thing I noticed was Todd, standing by my locker, with a wicked grin on his face. I thought he was going to leave me alone! Why is this happening?
"Hey Leah. Didn't you hear? School's closed today." No, I didn't hear.
"Then why are you here?" I shot back. His grin widened.
"I'm suppose to direct people out of the building if they are a student." Right then, I felt sick. Like, throwing up sick. I ran to the bathroom and locked myself in a stall. I heard him calling,"Leah? Leah are you alright?" I threw up. I threw up again. I needed to go home.
"I'm fine." I said after wiping the vomit off my face. I grabbed a wipe out of my bag(which are there because I used to get stuff all over my face when eating lunch.) and washed my face. Then, I sprayed a little body spray. I walked out of the stall and down the hall. I noticed all the classrooms were empty. But, Todd wouldn't give up yet.
"Hey! Where are you going?" He yelled.
"Home! Remember? No school!!" I shouted back. He ran up to me.
"Well, my shifts almost over. I'm gonna need someone to walk me home." I rolled my eyes at him and he made this face so funny, that I couldn't help but laugh a little."Ahh, so she does laugh." I looked at him. I suddenly remembered I couldn't make friends with some guy.
"I can't be friends with you. I can't tell you why and it's best for us both." I started walking away.
"Don't look at us as friends. Look at us as...two people that just ran into each other. Which isn't a lie." He smiled.
"Fine."
We waited about twenty minutes until the principal showed up and said that Todd could leave. We walked out of the buildings. That's when Todd started a game of twenty questions.
"How old are you?" He asked.
"Fourteen. How old are you?"
"Fifteen. Do you believe you have beautiful eyes?" We stopped walking and he looked at me. I looked up at his brilliant blue eyes. I thought to myself,"I believe you do." But then...
"I believe you do." I held my hand up to my mouth. Had I really just said that? He laughed.
"I believe you do, too." We walked for a few minutes silently. Then he turned to me and said,"Do you believe in love at first sight?" I'd never thought about this. I'm not sure if I even believe in love. I thought about this for a moment.
"I'll let you know." He smiled and turned his head back forward. But somehow, at that moment, I did.
